Mark Stanley

Mark is the President and founder of the WHY! Company - a business consultancy that helps business leaders create a sustainable competitive advantage through planning, performance, and results. Prior to the WHY! Company, Mark was a business partner and VP of Business Development for a $6.0 million dollar commercial office furniture manufacturing company and Director of Strategic Planning and Systems Improvement for Ruan Transportation, a $600 million dollar transportation and logistics systems company with clients that included Worthington Steel, Kroger Grocery, and Safeway. Mark currently sits on the Board of Directors for a $20 million dollar fuel transport company.

Mark's career includes extensive experience in developing and implementing practical Sustainable Competitive Advantage programs in a variety of organizations in the insurance, transportation, manufacturing, distribution, government and service industries. Today, the WHY! Company is one of the pioneering organizations that are blending the Theory of Constraints, Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma methodologies to help organizations achieve a sustainable competitive advantage.

Mark has a BBA in Finance, with honors, from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Drake University. Mark was an Examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award from for three years, a Senior Examiner in the Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence Process (IRPE), a certified Jonah with the Goldratt Institute, a certified supply chain expert with the TOC-ICO, a recognized TOC Expert with the Goldratt Consulting Group and an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt with extensive Lean enterprise experience. Mark is also an adjunct professor of operations for Drake University and author of a number of published articles.

Steve Wilson

WHY! Vice President - Performance Improvement Services

Steve is the VP of Performance Improvement Services for WHY! Company. Steve is an ASQ Certified Black Belt, having over 17 years of experience applying quality improvement tools, methodologies, and principles in a variety of organizations that include automotive, logistics, distribution, and Healthcare. In addition to that, Steve received his Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from the Fisher College of Business - Ohio State University.

Steve received Lean Certification from the University of Michigan College of Engineering Center for Professional Development and is a trainer for the Iowa Community Colleges Workplace Lean program. Steve was an Examiner for the 2004 Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence process and a member of the 2004 ASQCSSBB Exam Review committee. In 2005, Steve received TOCICO Certification in Supply Chain Logistics.

Dan Rose

WHY! Vice President - Six Sigma Services
MA Statistics, CSSBB

Dan has over 15 years of experience in both the service and manufacturing industries. He is a Master Black Belt with extensive experience in applying the tools of Six Sigma in producing results. He is an expert in the applications of Design for Six Sigma, Design of Experiments as well as the DMAIC method.

Dan has a Master Degree and Bachelor Degree in Statistics from Iowa State University as well as extensive seminar training. As well as being a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt with the American Society for Quality, he currently sits on the CSSBB exam writing committee for the American Society for Quality.
